Understanding Dashboard Template

Fogwing dashboard is a template with prefixed card. Let's explore the card purposes.

Card 1 : Primary Data

This is the first and primary card to display the top most data for the users. If the user prefers to see either device health data or alert data or specific device attributes, pick and choose the most important value as the first value.

The following options are available in card 1.

  1. Connected Devices - Display the connected devices at real-time.

  2. Disconnected Devices - Display the disconnected devices which were connected earlier.

  3. Today Critical Alerts - Display the critical alert triggered by data rules configured by the user or admin.

  4. Today Warning Alerts - Display the warning alert triggered by data rules configured by the user or admin.

  5. Device & Attribute - If none of the above is required, user may choose any one device's attribute by selecting the anyone of the devices from devices list. Finally select the attribute corresponding to the device selected.

Card 2 : Secondary Data

Similar to Card 1, This is the secondary card to display the 2nd most important data for the users. If the user prefers to see either device health data or alert data or specific device attributes, pick and choose the most important value as the first value. All other options are same as Card 1.

The purpose of Card 3 is to give a quick view of any specific data or device health trends to the users. In this card, the user can also change the name of the card as per their preferences. Any data trends or metrics will display in a graphical chart format.

The following options are available in card 3.

  1. Last 7 days Alerts - Displays the last 7 days critical and warning alerts in line graph format.

  2. Card Name - User may prefer to enter any meaningful name as card name for better understanding.

  3. Device and Attributes - User may choose any one device's attribute by selecting the anyone of the devices from devices list. Finally select the attribute corresponding to the device selected.

  4. Metrics Type - Based on the device and attribute data type, user may prefer to select anyone metrics given in the dropdown.

  5. Chart Type - Based on the metrics, user may prefer to choose anyone of the chart type to be displayed on the card 3.

Similar to Card 3, the Card 4 also made to display the device health trends or any one of the device attribute trends. However the main different in card 4 is that it is longer card equipped to display up to one month of data trends. User may prefer to choose any one of the options depending on the needs.

Card 5 : Device Data Log or Payload View

The Card 5 is to show the most recent data payload received from the devices. However the duration of the data list can be customized by either last 7 days or last 30 days depending on the data volume. The primary purpose of this card in dashboard is to show the quick view of the recent data, not the entire list. If the user required entire list of data payload then "Data Explorer" function is the most relevant one.

Card 6 - Device Location Map

The purpose of the card 6 is to show the visibility and status of the devices deployed across the field. However user may prefer to view the device locations either as Map view or in Table view format. The most useful view for the distributed business which has many operating locations and devices across regions.
