Common Features of Fogwing
Some of the common features that are available for all subscription plans
Fogwing IIoT Enterprise Cloud is available with set of common features that form the crux of IIoT Platform. However, there are certain limitations applicable for each subscription plan.
Device Provisions:
Fogwing makes it easy for users and Enterprise IT administrators to add, view and delete devices and gateways through its device provisioning feature. Fogwing supports both wireless network (3G/4G/5G) and LPWAN based LoRaWAN and NB-IoT communications. By default, all users will have access to Wireless Network device deployment feature. Based on the other subscription plan, user will be authorized to access specific network or all network.
Device Monitoring and Management:
Monitoring the device health, connectivity, frequency and battery level are critical in an IoT deployment as remote devices being a source of data generation and collection might go offline due to various reasons. The core of Fogwing Platform is to listen to the heartbeat of all deployed devices based on metadata information.
Data Aggregator:
In an IoT deployment, devices are considered as data source generators. However, it may not be capable of storing all data within its scope (except large capacity edge devices). Whereas, Fogwing’s data aggregator module support MQTT Broker, APIs, UDP and Message Broker. The data collections are handed by MQTT Broker and APIs, aggregation of data from various MQTT Broker from across regions are handled by the Message Broker. The combination of both technologies help to consolidate the stream of data received from various devices deployed on the field.
Data Rules:
Once the data is aggregated on the messaging broker, streaming process starts with data and data rules validation defined by users, to process data value against threshold set. Based on the rules, action can be trigger automatically. Users can create data rules by applying upper and lower threshold to plan alert/actions send via Email and SMS (SMS Service is available for startup and higher subscription only).
Data Storage:
Fogwing platform provides inbuilt data storage capabilities for all subscriptions. Soon after data is validated against data rules, all data will be stored in inbuilt Hot and Cold storage environment depending on the subscription. Each subscription plan supports different size of storage capacities. However users also have option to query or export data through APIs and File Export features.
Cloud Infrastructure:
Fogwing Cloud hosted in the Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure. Cloud infrastructure is highly scalable and secure available across various regions. The dedicated version of Fogwing Enterprise Cloud will be deployed to specific Azure region based on customer subscription and preferences.
